Southey Hall

South East Front. Grass Tennis Courts.

This picture was taken from the St Nicholas Church side of the grounds.
The photographer has his back to Lower Road and is looking towards
Southey Hall which we can just see on the right
The tall fir tree was a standard subject during trigonometry lessons.

The same tree can be seen in the background of this 2006 photo of the original
gates to Southey Hall which now adorn a bungalow on the Lower Road.

The main gate has been opened fully back and we can see the smaller side-gates that were for pedestrian use.

The tree is now in somebody's back garden and the tennis courts have disappeared
under houses that now line the Lower Road.
