The purpose of this website has been to change the names on Effingham's war memorials from inscriptions to people.
Where possible this begins with the formal detail of when and where they died, the unit they were serving with and so on.

Effingham Local History Group took up the research of the names on their War Memorials
and their excellently researched stories of the individuals are linked in this website.
That is exactly what was hoped for when this website was set up in 2009.
