Notes

CT DENCH - no match on CWGC, according to ELHG because the CWGC has his forenames in reverse order, Thomas Charles instead of Charles Thomas.

PJ NICHOLLS
His nephew, James Nicholls of Effingham pointed out that the PJ Nicholls previously identified was incorrect. This was despite that being the sole match on the CWGC database. On further investigation, now knowing the circumstances of Pte Nicholls' death, we have identified him on the CWGC database, where at present he is shown not as Peter James but as James Peter.
