None of the E Bartholomew records on CWGC reveal a local connection.
In Soldiers who Died in the Great War there are four Ernest Bartholomews. The only one with Surrey connections is:

BARTHOLOMEW, Ernest, was born 1893, Brixton. His father was a milk carrier. 
In 1911 he was a nursery gardener, single, living at 8, Eastwick Road. Bookham in Edwardian Times Ref 78157.

There are no Bartholomews in the Burials Register.

He is mentioned in Turville Kille's Memoir as having been a fellow choir boy at St Nicolas.
