T/o 1608 Great Massingham. Hit by Marine flak and crashed 1715 at Breskens (Zeeland), Holland. All are buried in Vlissingen Northern Cemetery. P/O Lindley's brother, Keith Robert Hewson Lindley, also died on active service.

P/O AAH Lindley, who was 22, was a Wireless Operator/Air Gunner. He was the son of Maj Arthur Lindley and Winifred Kate Lindley, of Ashtead, Surrey. Arthur Lindley married Winifred K Hewson in Sheffield during 1917. Arthur Alan H Lindley's birth registered Sheffield 6/1920 9c 1302 & Keith R H Lindley's birth registered Sheffield 6/1924 9c 1154.
His brother P/O Keith Lindley was a pilot on 12 Sqn, killed on a training flight on 26 Feb 1945. He is also named on the Ashtead War Memorial.
