Records

The Society has been acquiring records since it was founded in 1946. There are now about 1700 documents and papers, 2000 pictures and photographs and about 400 maps; also there is a collection of rate books.

The documents and papers are divided into two series:
Series W: copies and transcriptions of records held by the Public Record Office, County Record Offices and similar bodies;
Series X original items (mainly dating from the 1900s)

The pictures and photographs (Series P) include some framed pictures, a large collection of miscellaneous photographs and postcards.

The maps (Series M) include:
Copies of Ordinance Survey Maps - 1860 onwards
Copies of Classic maps - 1610 onwards
Some Estate maps - 1770 onwards

Leatherhead - information to be added

Many of the Society's records for Leatherhead are available to Members of the Society in the Library of the Leatherhead Community Association; other records can be made available through the Records Secretary.
